Summertime is here and we have been enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds our city has to offer! Thanks for joining us on the trails! So far we have explored Palmer Park, Garden of the Gods, and the Paul Intemann Trail in Manitou Springs. We believe in the motto, work hard play hard, and always enjoy a pint of micro-brew or craft spirit after each activity. However, some folks would rather skip the run and join us for the after party which we encourage if your schedule won’t allow you to participate! Cogstone, Red Leg, and Manitou Brewing Company did not disappoint! All served delicious brews and yummy food! We have really enjoyed supporting the local businesses and taking advantage of all the beautiful trails in our backyard!
This Friday we have decided to forgo our running shoes and pedal our bicycles instead! We are excited to hop on our bikes and explore the bike path that takes you on the eastern edge of downtown Colorado Springs.
Please Meet us at Shooks Run Trail at 5 pm. It is a paved trail that runs north-south along the Shooks Run Creek. It is an easy bike path, but does run slightly downhill as you ride south. We will be meeting at the northern end of Shooks Run Trail where it meets up with Rock Island Trail, two blocks north of Jackson Street and one block east of Nevada Avenue. It is right behind the Bon Shopping Center between Wahsatch and Weber.
We are not sure where we will end up after our bike ride this Friday. We may stop and check out Dog Tooth Coffee Company for a snack or skip it entirely and wait for a pint at Storybook Brewing Company. This little brewery is tucked away on North El Paso Street just off of Fillmore and has been opened since November 2014. This is a great little family owned brewery that is super family friendly offering games for the little ones and a great selection of micro-brews for the adults. They don’t have a kitchen, but don’t worry, If you get hungry they rotate through some yummy food trucks that park right outside!
